The aim of this course is to provide students of design with the appropriate knowledge of material choice and production processes, along with their basic rules and definitions to successfully transform design into reality. Furthermore will we evaluate and discuss case studies with reference to their practical implementation.

ENGINEERING DESIGN provides students with the necessary insight into analyzing and evaluating materials and their according production processes. Students' presentations (one's own focus) will be reviewed by their peers, and most current product and material samples contribute to experiencing applied theory.
Aspects of machinery and tools (grafters, joints, surfaces, post-treatment, welding quality, cycles, shrinkage, strain etc.) are explained with their regard to the rules of design.
This course is a complementary to "Technical Design".
